Using the same principle, the Helioklischograph was developed later, which engraves pictures and text with
a diamond stylus into the copper surface of a printing cylinder for rotogravure printing.
Such machines are still used today to produce roto-
gravure printing cylinders for high volume printing of magazines, catalogues, packaging material and decoratives

Today’s company HELL Gravure Systems GmbH (established in 2002) is the result of the
1997 spin-out of gravure operations from the prepress business (formerly Linotype¬Hell) of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, still producing the famous Helio Klischograph
